We were fascinated with farming methods. Most of the equipment would be considered antique by American standards. The hay was raked by hand into little mounds and then either bailed or hand pitches onto trucks.
We saw a buck rake that Blaine said was used in the 1930's. It was pulled originally with horses. Here we saw it pulled with a very old tractor. There was a woman riding on the back to stabilize the rake. I couldn't get my camera out quickly enough.
