This is our dear Buyanna. She came to the office to open her mission call. She was so excited.

This is the agony and the ecstasy. Her call was to Soeul, Korea. She speaks really good English and I think she really wanted to go to the US. I told her that she would be able to learn Korean easily because she already knew English and they teach English at the MTC before they teach Korean.

After she thought about it for one minute she became estatic and is thrilled that she is going to Korea.

As we were walking home from the Black Market we passed this open man-hole. You can tell that someone had been living in this space. I kept thinking about the street children and how many of them live in these conditions. Heart breaking...

We were walking down the street and this fellow was selling meat out of the back of his truck. Unreal!

This is a booth at the Black Market. There is a fabric sectoin of the Black Market that is to die for. There are so many kinds of fabric and you can imagine how much I enjoy this section of the Black Market.

Sister Soyolmaa is married to Bishop Enkhbold. We had dinner at their home with the new couples.
Sister Soyolmaa is over the service center. She is the only female service center opereator in the Church.
If we ever have a problem we go to her. She was one of the first missionaries from Mongolia.

They really load trucks to the max. It is still amazing to me to see these vehicles so loaded. I've seen hay trucks loaded but nothing like this.

We took the couples to Bayanzurkh Market. This is a cultural experience. Truly you can say "This little piggy went to market."

This little girl was darling. As the band played she marched with the streightest military legs. Unbelievably cute!

We took the new couples to Sukhbaatar Square and they really rolled out the red carpet for them. We are not sure what the celebraton was but there was a brass military band, all sorts of dignitaries, and they laid a wreath at the foot of the Sukhbaatar Statue.

We had three new couples come to the mission this week, the Martins (the mission doctor), the Gledhill (the English program) and the Richardsons (DIC). We decorated all their doors to help them to feel welcome.

Pictured below are: Elder and Sister Shrope, Elder and Sister Richardson, Elder and Sister Gledhill, Elder Ford, Elder and Sister Martin. They are standing in front of the Parliament building in Sukhbaatar Square.

This is Batchimeg's little girl. Her daddy had business in the office and she got a little fussy and in a minute she was asleep. He made her a little bed and she slept all afternoon. Mongolian babies can sleep anywhere.
