They don't do anything the easy way in Mongolia. There are no snow plows or snow removal machines...everything is done by hand. They come along the edge of the major streets and with brooms and shovels chip away the ice build up put it in cans and find a place to dump it. That place can even be in the middle of the sidewalk.

They don't do anything the easy way in Mongolia. There are no snow plows or snow removal machines...everything is done by hand. They come along the edge of this major street and with brooms and shovels chipped away the ice build up put it in cans and found a place to dump it. That place could even be in the middle of the sidewalk.(Like it is on our way to the Church!)
This is the daily attire for going outside. It takes me an extra 10 minutes to get on two layers of pants, boots, a sweater under my coat, my coat (it has a terrible zipper) scarf and gloves. Then when I get to to bottom of the stairs I put on Yak Tracks to help from slipping on the ice. It is so much easier to just jump in the car and turn on the heater. Even Blaine has scummed to the warm clothes routine.
