The program included traditional instruments and traditional "throat singing".

Traditional Dancing. The white scarves represent the pure in heart.

In the evening we attended the National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble at the National Academic Drama Palace. This performance is a feast for the eye and the ear.

The proscenium and the curtain on the stage. Beautiful.
This is the Mongolian History Museum. It is a wonderful museum with excellent exhibits.

This display of Ghinggis Khann has been exhibited world wide. It is excellent.

Of course, my favorite part of the museum was the amazing costume displays.
Sukhbaatar Square is in the center of Ulaanbaatar. Many celebrations and events take place here. We walked here from the Choijin Lama Museum.
1st picture is of the hero Sukhbaatar. (His name means Ax Hero). He was one of the great military leaders in the 1921 revolution against China.

This is the Zero Kilometer Marker. It is from this marker that all distances are measured in Mongolia.

This Chingghis statue is on the front steps of the parliament building on Sukhbaatar Square.

This is the seat of government for Mongolia...the Parliament Building. We have had the privilege of touring this building. It is an amazing building.

Such a fascinating place. Choijin Lama Monastery and Museum.
